Difference between Rashi and Lagna sign

Rashi

Rashi or Moon sign is Based on the Moon's position at the time of your birth. For example if moon is in Gemini sign at the time of birth it means that your Rashi or Moon Sign is Gemini.

Moon sign represents your emotional nature and inner world. It describes your feelings, instincts, and emotional needs.

Moon Changes its position after every 2.5 days, this means that it covers all the 12 signs in roughly a month.

Lagna

Lagna or Ascendant sign is based on the zodiac sign which is rising on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth. For example if Pisces sign is rising in the eastern horizon at the time of your birth so your Lagna sign or Ascendant will be Pisces.               

Lagna or Ascendant represents your personality, Physcial appearance, traits. How is your approach to others, How is your approach to life and so on. Basically it shows your outward personality.

Zodiac Sign or rising sign changes its position from the eastern horizon once every 2 hours approximately - giving the 24 hour cycle.
